INVESTIGATING

We are currently aware of intermittent issues affecting VDI users who are experiencing problems with Microsoft Office licensing. Our teams are urgently investigating the matter to restore normal service as quickly as possible. Workaround - In the meantime, we recommend using the Microsoft Office web applications as a temporary workaround. How to access Office Web Apps • Open a web browser • Go to office.com • Sign in with your university of Aberdeen IT account This allow access to online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, though the functionality is more limited. Files are saved directly to your University OneDrive. We apologise for any inconvenience.

MONITORING

Some users are experiencing software licence errors when launching Microsoft Office applications shortly after logging onto the VDI service. The problem appears to be timing-related, though we have not yet identified the root cause. Workaround: After logging into the VDI, please wait 60 seconds before launching Microsoft Office applications or opening Office files. You can still use other applications or open web browsers during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience.
